Fresh Black Truffle 100g

Description: the black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum Vitt.) also known as the winter black truffle from Norcia or from Spoleto is a variety of truffle that distinguishes itself from the other species for its sweet and powerful taste. Besides the salty dished, this type of truffle can be a perfect ingredient for the sweet creations. The shape is globose, sometimes lobed, with brown-black peridium with depressed warts at the apex. The inside is brown or black-reddish, furrowed with clear and thin veins, very ramified.

Harvesting: In Umbria region the harvesting period of the Black Truffle goes from November 15th till March 15th.

Packaging and Shipping: We ship the fresh truffle in a cooled polystyrene box in order to guarantee the best storage of the product during shipment.

Storage: Wrap the truffles one by one in the kitchen paper and put them in a plastic or glass container. Store them in the lowest part of the fridge at 0°-4°C for a maximum of 5 days.

Use: The fresh truffles can be prepared in different ways. Truffles can be grated to obtain a sauce, or sliced on the dishes.

Notes:  The fresh truffles are sold washed, nevertheless, we advice to wash and/or brush them before use. It is of no concern to find slightly white spots on the surface of the fresh truffle, wash to remove.
